Gaspeite

Gaspeite is an extremely rare nickel carbonate mineral, it's found only in a few locations. It has a unique apple green color. It may contain brownish patches which may give it a distinctive character.

Gaspeite is found around nickel sulfide deposits and is named for the place it was first described, in the Gaspé Peninsula, Canada. Its chemical formula is (Ni,Fe,Mg)CO3.

The main Sources for Gaspeite are Canada and Western Australia. Its Hardness according to the Mohs scale is 4.5 - 5.
