Agate

         The word Agate comes from the Greek "Agateeq" which means happy.

         Agate doesn’t describe a specific mineral but it's a group of forms for microcrystalline variety of silica, agates are hard stones, usually within the range of 6.5 -7 on the Mohs scale, they may be found in various kinds of rocks, but they are classically associated with volcanic rocks as they are common in certain metamorphic rocks. Agates are found in all over the world and in all rainbows' colors , blue and green one are quite rare.

         Agate's drusy (surface covered with tiny individual crystals) are often cut to use for jewelry.
