Cat's Eye

Cat's Eye describes a gemstone which has been cut and polished with a domed surface (cabochon), it shows a mobile streak of light that called cymophane or cat's eye That displays a narrow band of concentrated light going across the width of the gemstone, This band of light runs length wise from one end of the stone to the other. This effect is called chatoyancy or cat's eye effect. In gemology chatoyancy is an optical reflectance effect seen in some natural gemstones.
