Ammolite is a rare and valuable organic gemstone.its name is derived from the ancient Egyptian god named Ammon. It has been found primarily along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains of North America. We can say that Ammolite is the rarest gemstone on earth. It's made of the mineralized remains and fossilized shells of ammonites. It is composed primarily of aragonite (97% aragonite), 1% silica, 1% iron, and 1% trace minerals such as strontium, magnesium, titanium, copper, aluminum, manganese, barium and silicon. Its hardness according to the Mohs scale is: 4.5 - 5.5.
